Risk notice

Not boilerplate — a handful of things worth knowing before you act.

What this site is

KWOTRA publishes how-to material and organised public information. It is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice. We do not know your finances, your risk tolerance or your tax position, so we could not give you suitable advice even if we wanted to. Every decision is yours.

You can lose everything you put in

This is not a formality

Share prices fall, and individual names really do fall to near zero. Crypto assets move further and faster, with no daily limits. And if you go anywhere near leverage or derivatives, losses can exceed what you deposited and forced liquidation can happen in minutes.

Only commit money whose total loss would not change how you live. Everyone has heard that; comparatively few act on it.

Platform-level risks

  • Rules change. Fees, limits, available jurisdictions and supported payment methods can all be adjusted, sometimes without notice. Every figure here carries a checked date and may be stale after it.
  • More than one party is involved. Orders you place on Binance are executed, cleared and custodied by a third-party licensed broker. That is one link more than opening directly with a broker, and one more place something can go wrong.
  • Money is not always movable. US equities settle T+1, and before settlement completes those proceeds cannot be withdrawn or moved to a futures account.
  • Accounts get restricted. Risk review, compliance checks, or irregular details can all pause an account temporarily. This site can do nothing about that.

Specific to P2P

Acquiring stablecoin with local currency is a user-to-user match. If funds you receive turn out to have a problematic origin, your receiving account can be flagged or frozen. Choosing counterparties carefully lowers the probability; it does not remove the mechanism. You have to decide whether that residual is one you can carry.

Tax

US dividends to non-residents generally attract withholding, and the rate depends on your tax residency and any applicable treaty. Separately, wherever you are resident has its own rules on reporting foreign investment income. Consult a qualified tax professional, and do not treat any article — including this site — as authority.

Legality

Rules on trading crypto assets differ enormously by jurisdiction and some prohibit it outright. Confirm that what you are doing is permitted where you are before you start. This site provides no methods for circumventing geographic restrictions and does not suggest you try.

We can be wrong

We check carefully and still do not guarantee that everything here is complete, accurate or current. Tell us when you find a problem — changes go into corrections. We accept no liability for losses arising from use of this material.
